Thanks to I.M. for taking this great shot and forwarding it to me. Here you can see the immense suffering on my face as I fight the demons to summit Appalachian Gap!! :)   Actually I was grimacing that day, honest!  It was the simultaneous sight of my good friend and the finish line that had me smilin’.

Road season officially closed. You may now proceed to cross.

So Bob Beals was super fun and successful for CCB. Strong men Amos Brumble and Ciaran Mangan swept the 30-34 and 35-39 age group races handily. BB and KH also had strong finishes with 5th and 6th in their respective fields. Stayed down in Charlestown with KH, DK, KM, SD, and MP in a rented house. Hanging out with this crew is always a great time. I was in Ciaran’s race and was able to help him a ‘wee bit’ in the circuit race closing threatening breaks. This was all I could do really in this stacked field with many cat 2s and 3s. Domestique-ing in the late season; yahoo!! Now that I am fully shot; with deep soreness accumulated in the muscles, its time to take a 1 week break and then get serious about cross. As KL would say ‘Road season is complete, you may now proceed to cross’. To celebrate the passing of September, bro, NS and I knocked back a couple lagers and recorded these 4 quality tunes in the basement studio; if you don’t have 46 minutes to kill, listen to 22:22-34:22 as its ROCKIN.
