3 snappers

Riding into work is always an adventure. Today it was drafting off a dump truck the entire length of woburn at 30mph. Also spotted no less than three snapping turtles along the way. This one about 300m from the end of my driveway.

Did the north shore classic today.  Super fun and super close make this race a keeper for next year’s calendar.  Beautiful weather and a great time having Chis and Jen there.  The race was tough.  Lots of greasy mud from the recent rains and plenty of rolling hills to keep the heart rate pegged.  Was proud to wear the colors as Matt O’Keefe and Dan Vallencourt did a one two finish in the pro race immediately before the expert race.

Afterward got to celebrate the beating of cancer by a close family friend.  I thought I was amongst the tough in the morning but it was really DG who wins the award for being tough when the going is tough.  Hats off to you.

mudfest in middlesex fells

Rode the mtb loop in the middlesex fells with nathan last night;  the loads of recent wet weather made the trails extremely slippery and muddy.  It was alot of fun.  As nate put it: "it seems like it would be no fun until you get out there."  Definately true.  Sorry no pics; this was no environment for electronics.

muddy in maine

Did the lake auburn road race. The rain was thick and driving. That did not deter myself nor 64 other lads who showed up at the line. The course was bumpy rolling and fast. Tried to stay up front which payed off as there was a reasonable crash behind. Had a great time, racing in the rain is always an adventure. Jh and mb stopped in to visit on their way to timberman. Was great to catch up with them and hit up flatbread.
