2006 race 5

Bloged in blog, cycling by sean Sunday March 26, 2006

Race 5 of the ’shock and awe’ training phase of my season.  The idea here is to ’sharpen the stick’ of a resonable winter base.  What this does for me is to build physical adaptations to the rigors of racing.  Today was Wells ave and there was some serious talents there.  I really love this type of early season training races as its a rare opportunity to mix it up with my friends and some of the best racers in New England.  Here’s how it ended up: 40 laps, 33.4mi, 26.7mph avg, 33.6 max.  No pics of wells, but here’s a snip from Charge Pond yesterday.

Took Emmy for an early hike to start the day.  Hit the trail at 6am, in the water by 6:03.  These labs are born for the water.  Yes those are ice crystals.

Cranked out some jams with chris and nate last nite.  Here is the view from behind the kit.  I know I’ve been threatening the release of some mp3s.  Getting there.  Couple of more practices and we’ll have something worthwhile I promise.  Cheers.

Nate, Chris and I hit the rock gym again last night, afterward Nate cooked us some kick ass salmon stakes for dinner. Emmy D was all up in the place.

A bit behind on the posting; here are a couple of snips from Chris and I at the rock gym.  Having a little fun doing some bouldering.  First pic is Chris negotiating a difficult protruding cube.  Next is me doing a wall to wall transfer.
