how it ended up

Bloged in MoBlog, cycling by sean Monday November 28, 2005

Was able to put some time in on the bike this weekend; alas mostly solo as my schedule was hectic.  Got 3 hours on Friday, 4 hours on saturday and 2 hours on sunday.  The friday and sunday rides on the heavy cross bike; the idea being this will give me some added strength come Spring.  Every year switching bikes is a painful transition and this year was no exception. The cross bike isn’t really an exact fit to my road bike and I don’t really ride it at all in the summer.  It feels like there are some muscles which are only used on this bike and they get pretty sore first few times out.  Anyway, hope to slowly and steadily increase the volume over the next several weeks.  Pictures include my cyclocomputer and a view of the hilly fields of Haverhill.  Somehow those fields looked better in person; the phone camera doesn’t really do it justice.

thanksgiving

Had a fantastic thanksgiving with close family.  Definately wonderful to have some dedicated family time.  Highlights: turkey, hiking with the dogs in the snow, and of course pumkin pie and football.

Tim Doud dot net back in action

Checkout Tim Doud’s new blog.  Tim and I have been friends now for a few years now.  He just started at University of Colorado (UC) on an athletic and acedemic scholarship to race bicycles for their A team.  UC is as tough as it gets if you’re a collegiate racer, and getting on the A team as a freshman is usually unheard of.  Watch this guy grow to become a serious pro one day.  You heard it here first.

beaver trail

Bloged in blog by sean Wednesday November 9, 2005

Did a nice nite ride tonite in bsf with CL.  First did a little exploring to checkout a beaver dam deep in the woods.  Found it to be very much active.  As we approached could hear the slap of a tail in water.  Then took off for a loop around and up bald hill.  Quick ride back from the summit for a pasta dinner.  Nice cool weather in the 40s.

why I love to ride

Looking through my old fotos on the phone, I found this one from August.
I came upon this sunflower field on a training ride. Its located on
the Colby Farm on Scotland Road in Newbury. Not many sports take you to
places like this.
