Jeeze, hopefully my identity won’t ever get crossed with the guy in this story…  Although it might be nice to be 18 and to be able to run like that again.  To evade K9 units, I bet he’s pulling in 6 minute miles.   

Had a sweet night time mtn ride with CL and NS.  Did some adventuring in the BSF with lights on.  Man it was hoooomid.  Saw some cool iradecent frogs and heard some deer feeding in the swampy lowlands.  Too bad my 757 pedal failed and came off the spindle.  Will have to tighten this down for next week…

So the first plan was to go up to the UNH training camp and get some cyclocross training in, so that we (JH, MB and myself) could be nice and fit for the cross season.  The best laid plans of mice and men succumbed to the beuracracy of life.  Fine by me; alot of driving for not alot of racing/training.  So even though armed with my cyclocross bike, I headed for the lexington BRC ride.  Of course, as soon as I get to the green, an old lady from across the street shouts "hey they just left; 30 seconds."  Well I’m not in that great of shape where I could chase down the group on my cross bike; but I tried.  Here is the D&D breakdown: crossbike  +5 pain -3 speed.  Didn’t catch anyone, but instead rode slow and hard.

Raced in the 2nd annual Topsfield Cycling Classic today.  It was a blast.  The course was super fun, and the race was extremely well run.  Highlights: racing with AD, GG, BF and GJ who are really great guys I normally don’t get a chance to race with.  Also a surprise was to see DS there!  Great to see him ‘enter the ring’.  Largely was a spectator, but was able to muster two small attacks which didn’t amount to much.  Watching AD crank was pretty impressive; this guy’s got some engine.  Anyhow, alot of fun.  Was great to have P & J there to cheer me on.  Later intstalled the mailbox and met C&C at Flatbread.

The focus this month is of course the Vuelta and the World Championships.  Seeing the Worlds in Spain makes Spain the hotbed of international cycling this month.  Enjoy.
