time marches on

Stress at a fairly high level. The ‘house project’ is full steam ahead and is a big deal. Also putting in some large hours at work coming up to speed on the process, technology and conventions there. Not likely to change as my next project has an agressive timeline. Luckily I’m working with good ‘people who care and are smart’ ™. Because I’m not busy enough, I’m also putting some time in evenings helping to build some infrastructure for a new secret open source community. Can’t wait to talk about it more openly once it launched. Suffice to say, its ‘wicked cool’. So lots going on. Oh; trying to ride the bike a little too. Not expecting much this season though; just looking for some fun.

Clocked in some miles w/ JF, RK, DK and KH out through the nether regions of the western and northern towns. Brisk and fun; legs eventually gave out after only about 30 miles. Yesterday’s efforts caught up with me. Hopefully some small savings in the bank for next weekend. Spent some time outside with the dogs. Spent some hours on the ‘puter working on a bug tracking system for an open source project. More on this later.

miles; fisher cat

Did a brisk 64 miles; half with Chris, DK, TD, eventually found JF on the road in Georgetown as well. Pedaled back to Topsfield; spotted a fisher cat along the way: impressive animal. . Then hooked in with the group for a bit before heading home. Felt a little spring in the air as the sun tried to make itself known. All in all a good day.

first week

So I’ve completed my first week at Instrumentation Labs and I am psyched. The people here are great and the work is really interesting. There are a number of interesting projects underway and a dynamic atmosphere. Being very familiar with the technologies they are using I was able to be a contributor right away which was satisfying.

Took a drive down to visit the folks today and have a Christening to attend tomorrow. If the weather cooperates, I’ll be heading over to the First Bethel Training Race tomorrow. So psyched that racing season is here!
