sno ski

Initially planned to head out on two wheels w/ CL but a freak early morning flurry pointed us instead to the woods. Did a nice 6 mi loop including the summit of the great bald hill. Spotted many fresh tracks in the new powder and had an interesting time. Almost lost my teeth on a headfirst dive onto a whaleback rock. Funny how I can’t catch a football or dance the tango, but when plummeting towards a rock outcropping I can somehow deftly escape injury; hurray for the brainstem! In the end we really had a good time; almost convinced ourselves to sign up for this. We’ll see if that actually happens….

cold weather

Had a great breakfast today with friends. JF cooked some awesome fresh from the coop scrambled eggs along with some delicous coffee from Kona. DK and RK were there so we had a good time chatting and watched stage 15 of TDF. I don’t know if it was the high levels of caffene or the inspirational DVD but somehow we went out and put in a good 2.5 hour ride. Sheesh my toes are cold.

Many coyotes tracks around the house and no deer prints. The tide has turned and the deer have been pushed back into the deep woods. I hope to head out this weekend to see if I can spot some tracks.

So I’ve started my new job at Pingtel and I am very excited!! What a great bunch of people!! I can’t wait for the road ahead; lots of exciting things going on in this industry. I am honored to be a part of it. I was going to go for a bike ride this morning, but alas, it is waaay too cold. Hopefully tomorrow I will get out. Working on configuring a new laptop; considering a gentoo / vmware xp setup. Anyone have any experience with this type of setup? ALSO: Selling a bunch of stuff on ebay.

Ok, so I have my wireless access points all properly configured, and have a slave access point also configured. This means that I should be able to roam between the two and get a new address via DHCP when swiching ‘nodes’. Need to test this later. Using gentoo linux as my communications hub; cable/wireless/lan router serving web/email/cvs. Also working on Pedavi today.
