Mother Nature reminding us that she calls the shots. Trip to CT this weekend to visit the folks and celebrate my birthday. Did a training race in Bethel yesterday- what a great series that is. The weather was terrible but it was fun anway.

Just when you thought you had a handle on pretty much everything cool going on in the open source world, someone comes along and shows you something completely new. A buddy at work showed me this today. A java servlet based dynamic flash rendering engine. How cool is that? Props to you mp.

One year at the Block Island Triathalon, I watched him jump about 10 places just in the transition and take the lead. Good stuff. He’s off to the Hawaii Ironman Championships this year in October. More on this later.

So the weekend was fun and excting. Now back to the grind. Big week ahead. Read an interesting article in the IEEE Spectrum this morning. What is the fate of telecom post dot-com in the years ahead? Will wireless networking and broadband salvage this industry or will the lack of any killer app, slow internet growth and commodity pricing continue to torture this industry?

So nowadays we have e-biz, e-commerce, e-bay, e-rosion, and most recently of course we have e-rack. To satisfy my own bizarre sense of humor I tried putting www.e-rack.com into my browser thinking i’d probably get some internet shelving megastore, but surprise! – a porn site. I guess that figures. So if you need a ‘rack’, you know where to go.

So a good friend of mine tells me yesterday to get off my ass and put this thang up; thanks Clay for the motivation. Its been too long since I had one of these things cookin. I used to have a blog back in college when I was cool – honest. I’m not just now jumping on the bandwagon. So stay tuned – maybe i’ll have some interesting stuff for y’all to pick through. Maybe not..

Rode my bike into work today – whohoo. First time this season I work the commute. What a nasty day to go for a bike ride. Left the house at 6:45. Two broken spokes and 90 mins later: Beantown. Time for a new wheel, oh and some fitness would be nice too.
