SLB 2010 Day 5 – Granada

The first camp of Strong Like Bull 2010 has been amazing so far. We have a group of very fit, very serious athletes. The first 3 days have been a challenge because of some inconsistent weather, but we were still able to get out on the bikes every day and consistent 3-4 hour rides. On Sunday we were able to explore a new route which descends down from Colmenar down to Malaga over 19k. The day was epic as we climbed out of Colemenar into a cloud then descended out of the cloud over many switchbacks down to a clear view of Malaga. The climb back up was super challenging. Today we are visiting Granada where we hiked up to some gypsy caves on the outskirts of the city where we had our morning coffee. Tomorrow we are planning to do the Puerta del Sol 8k time trial.

Did an epic hard ride today with some new england’s strongest masters. Was super hard but fun to wind it up in the mild weather.

Fun weekend – finished the basement work w/ Chris and then got to hang out with jh and the guru. Dog adventures, epic bike rides and even a trail run. (Phone was on the fritz so only this mediocre pic available). Thanks chris for the double flat rescue. Kudos to Lakeside Pizza and Seafood in Tyngsboro for the tasty veggie pie.

Here’s a great recipe for walnut chicken Jen and I made the other night. We used our new wok for this culinary experiment and were pleasantly surprised with the outcome. It was our first attempt and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it might be. Now to somehow remove the smell of ginger from the house…
